Invitation for Bids for Aspinwall Treatment Plant Clarifier No. 2 and No. 4 Rehabilitation
PWSA PROJECT NO. 2017-322-101-1

All bids must be submitted in accordance with the solicitation that can be obtained by sending an e-mail to cjuratovic@pgh2o.com.  There will be no charge for the solicitation, as it will be sent via e-mail. All questions relating to the solicitation itself shall be directed to Jim Tracey, Contract Specialist, via e-mail: jtracey@pgh2o.com, no later than June 21, 2017. Bids must be received in the hands of and clocked in by a PWSA Procurement Officer in sufficient time prior to the opening in order for a bid to be considered.

All Bidders interested in submitting a bid in response to this solicitation are invited to attend a Site Visit on June 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.  A Pre-Bid Meeting will be held immediately following the Site Visit.   The purpose of this meeting is to give an overview of the contract requirements and to allow Bidders to ask questions.

The scope of Clarifier work includes repairs to expansion joints in Clarifier Basins No. 2 and No. 4, expansion joint repairs in the overhead troughs, and repairs to existing wall cracks/spalling concrete as required to allow the expansion joint repairs to be completed.  Flocculator tank solids removal entails removing and disposing of solids (accumulated coal, sand, and sludge) from the four flocculation tanks located inside Clarifier Basin No. 2.

Invitation for Bids for Green Infrastructure Project Finland Street, Bethoven Street and Melwood Avenue
PWSA PROJECT NO. 2016-GI-105-0

All bids must be submitted in accordance with the solicitation that can be obtained by sending an e-mail to cjuratovic@pgh2o.com.  There will be no charge for the solicitation, as it will be sent via e-mail. All questions relating to the solicitation itself shall be directed to Jim Tracey, Contract Specialist, via e-mail: jtracey@pgh2o.com, no later than June 30, 2017. Bids must be received in the hands of and clocked in by a PWSA Procurement Officer in sufficient time prior to the opening in order for a bid to be considered.

All Bidders interested in submitting a bid in response to this solicitation are required to attend a MANDATORY Pre-Bid Meeting on June 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Authority’s conference room located at 1200 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, PA. The purpose of this meeting is to give an overview of the contract requirements and to allow Bidders to ask questions.

Work of the Contract includes the installation of 5 systems of green infrastructure (GI) BMPs and road surface improvements to Finland Street which include installation of approximately 900 LF of concrete curb and gutter and milling and paving between Melwood Ave. and Bigelow Blvd.  This includes excavation work, protecting existing utilities, installation of underdrain piping, installation of BMP storage layers (#57 aggregate and modular storage), installation of new catch basins, cored connections into existing manhole structures, sidewalk restoration, site excavation, plantings of trees, shrubs, grasses and perennials, and roadway milling and paving. The work will include the installation of new catch basins, and associated connections into the existing combined sewer system of the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority (PWSA).
