Doing Business with PWSA

The Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority (PWSA) contracts with engineering firms, construction companies, professional consultants, and a variety of vendors to provide the equipment and supplies needed to deliver water services to the City of Pittsburgh. From infrastructure projects to modernize our facilities, contractors to support our operational work, and the materials needed to treat and process water, many of our contracts range from several thousand dollars to several million dollars depending upon the project and scope of work. 

It’s important that companies interested in bidding on or submitting proposals can easily find the information they need to participate in these opportunities. The following information lists current opportunities, describes the process, and will help you get started.

All bids must be submitted in accordance with the solicitation that can be obtained by sending an e-mail to  There will be no charge for the solicitation, as it will be sent via e-mail. All questions relating to the solicitation itself shall be directed to Autumn Barna, Procurement Manager, via e-mail:, no later than April 23, 2018 at 4:00 p.m.  EST.
Bids are due May 3, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. EST.

Preliminary Bid Results

Preliminary Bid Results are as read at the Public Bid Opening and are subject to verification.  A detailed Bid Tabulation will be available after award.

Submitting a Bid or Proposal

Contractors, consultants, and vendors interested in submitting a bid or proposal in response to an advertised solicitation should be sure to follow the instructions provided in the announcement and/or solicitation.

Awarding Contracts

The PWSA Board of Directors approves the award of contracts, when required by the Delegation of Authority, at monthly public PWSA Board Meetings. Our meetings are held on the last Friday of each month unless otherwise noted or announced.
