PWSA Investigating Water System Leak: Update #8
UPDATE #8 (2/19/17 at 4:50 pm)

PWSA is performing a test shut on a segment of the leaking 60-inch water main connecting the Aspinwall water treatment plant to the Lanpher reservoir. At approximately 3 pm, PWSA crews began working to shut valves to stop the flow of water to the broken section of the water main. The Authority will monitor the water system for the next 12 hours to ensure that the shut does not impact water service.

Repairs to the main are scheduled to begin Monday, February 20, 2017. As a precaution, PWSA is coordinating with the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County Emergency Services at the Emergency Operations Center to monitor the work and prepare for any potential issues.

No impact to water service or water quality is anticipated during this work.  PWSA will continue to provide updates to the public as the repair proceeds
