Pittsburgh, PA – The Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority (PWSA) received confirmation from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) that the flush and boil water advisory impacting residents in the Borough of Millvale will remain in place for another 24 hours.
Based upon water quality tests to date, additional verification of water quality in the Borough of Millvale is required to provide DEP with the desired assurance that the water quality meets Federal and State Standards. PWSA has sent additional water samples today to its Contract Laboratory to confirm acceptable water quality conditions.
“The residents and officials in Millvale have been extremely patient and helpful as we work through this boil water advisory, and we are grateful for their cooperation. Our main goal at PWSA is, and will always be, providing safe drinking water to our customers,” said PWSA Interim Executive Director Robert Weimar.
“We would like to thank the Borough of Millvale and public safety officials for their continued coordination and assistance as we rectify this issue” said Weimar.
