PWSA Statement Regarding Mayor's Blue Ribbon Panel Recommendations
PWSA Thanks the Blue Ribbon Panel, Reviews Recommendations.
Pittsburgh, PA The Mayor's Blue Ribbon Panel was assembled in early 2017 by the City of Pittsburgh's Mayor's Office to consider possible options to restructure the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority (PWSA). The panel released their recommendations today. PWSA issued the following statement.
“On behalf of the Authority, I would like to thank the Mayor’s Blue Ribbon Panel for their thoughtful engagement and interest in making PWSA the water utility Pittsburgh expects and deserves. We are currently reviewing the recommendations included in their report, and look forward to working with all of our stakeholders to determine the best path forward for the organization,” stated Robert A. Weimar, PWSA Interim Executive Director.
PWSA is currently undertaking an aggressive, performance metric-based improvement program. Details on the program are laid out in the PWSA Roadmap for Success Strategic Plan found here.
