Pittsburgh, PA - The Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority (PWSA) is encouraging eligible low income customer to re-enroll in the Authority's Customer Assistance Program. The program protects low-income residential customers from having their water shut off due to non-payment from December 1st through March 31st. This moratorium is available to single-family residential customers earning an annual income that is at or below 250% of the Federal Poverty Level. Customers must enroll in the program annually.
“We encourage eligible customers to contact Dollar Energy Fund to re-enroll in the Winter Moratorium and to learn about the other assistance programs offered by PWSA,” said PWSA Board Member Councilwoman Deborah Gross.
“We recognize that many of our customers struggle to keep up with their utility bills. Our decision to continue the Winter Moratorium program affirms our commitment to protecting our most vulnerable residents from water shut off during cold winter months,” said PWSA Board Chairman Paul Leger.
In addition to the Winter Moratorium, PWSA also offers Bill Discount and Hardship Cash Assistance to eligible customers. All three assistance programs are administered on behalf of PWSA by Dollar Energy Fund.
