Water Main Replacement Project - Squirrel Hill

This project, in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh, will replace three water mains on several streets, providing more reliable water service to our customers.

Verification work has begun on Phase 1 streets. Water main replacement will follow.

 

Phase 1 will include the following streets:

  • Bartlett Street (Schenley Park - Murdoch Street)
  • Darlington Road (Wightman Street – Murdoch Street)
  • Murdoch Street (Darlington Road – Beacon Street; Bartlett Street – Beacon Street)
  • Raleigh Street (Murdoch Street – Wightman Street)

Phase 2 will include the following streets:

  • Beacon Street (Schenley Park – Murdoch Street)
  • Beacon Street (Murdoch Street – Wightman Street)
  • Murdoch Street (Beacon Street – Kamin Street)
  • Murdoch Street (Kamin Street – Hobart Street)
  • Kamin Street (Murdoch Street – Wendover Street)
  • Wendover Street (Beacon Street – Hobart Street)
  • Guarino Road (Murdoch Street – Hobart Street)
  • Hobart Street (Schenley Park – Murdoch Street)
  • Hobart Street (Murdoch Street – Wightman Street)

Locations & Schedule

Start Date: mid-August 2024

Completion Date: Early Summer 2025

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Traffic Patterns: The street will be closed to local traffic during working hours and will be plated and re-opened at the end of the work day.
