Pittsburgh Water continues to make progress on its expansive Water Reliability Plan (WRP) projects, with the next phase of construction beginning this year.

Work for this phase will include the rehabilitation of the Aspinwall Pump Station, construction of a new pump station, and construction of an emergency bypass system for the Clearwell, the basin that provides the critical, final disinfection step in the water treatment process. 

Construction for this series of projects will begin this year and is anticipated to be completed in 2029. Through this project, Pittsburgh Water will make a $164 million investment in our water system. The projects are forecasted to generate more than 1,300 jobs and stimulate an economic output of nearly $300 million in our region. Since we kicked off the WRP in 2020, Pittsburgh Water has invested more than $117,000,000 in this suite of projects.
