Are you a homeowner or a business owner in Allegheny County? Have you been asking yourself: Why is my basement flooding? Why is the street flooding? What do I do in a flood? How do I protect my house? When do I evacuate?
Join the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 3 Rivers Wet Weather, ALCOSAN, Allegheny County Conservation District, PA Dept. of Environmental Protection, PA Emergency Management Agency, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority, Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission and Watersheds of South Pittsburgh for a flood education workshop series to answer those questions. You'll learn about the basics of flooding, how to prepare and protect yourself and your property, available resources and contacts, and other important information to empower yourself and the people you care about before, during and after a flood. We hope that these workshops can help create better prepared and flood-resilient communities.
There are a total of five virtual sessions, lasting about an hour each, starting at 6 pm each Tuesday from July 27th to August 24th. Please attend each session for a complete learning experience. See descriptions for each session below.
