Join us on an adventure: A Water Drop's Journey

Have you ever wondered where your water comes from and how it gets to your tap?
Water drop in Allegheny River Isn't our water drop cute?! Check out our fun video to learn more about how your water makes it to your tap.

There’s a lot that goes into PWSA’s water treatment process, especially when you consider that we produce, on average, 65 million gallons of drinking water for more than 500,000 people each day.

Transparency means that we aim to operate and communicate in ways that make it easy for our customers to understand the work we’re undertaking.

To that end, we invite you to dive into an incredible adventure in our new, fun, explainer video – A Water Drop's Journey: An Animated Exploration of Our Drinking Water Treatment Process.

Using eye-catching animations and graphics, this video follows a water drop on a journey from our source water, the Allegheny River, through our water treatment process, and then onto you.

We hope this engaging video lifts the veil on our water treatment and distribution processes. The video is kid-friendly and suitable for anyone interested in water chemistry, public infrastructure, and more.

Customers interested in additional water quality information are invited to review PWSA’s 2023 Water Quality Report, released this June. In this report, you'll see why you can have confidence that the water you rely on each day meets or exceeds all regulatory requirements.
