This project is located in the Highland Park neighborhood within the City of Pittsburgh, in the vicinity of the Washington Boulevard, Allegheny River Boulevard, One Wild Place and surrounding areas including the Pittsburgh Zoo. Crews will rehabilitate and replace transmission water mains connecting the Bruecken Pump Station and covered Highland Reservoir No. 2. Making any repairs to these pipes will ensure there is reliable water service to many of our customers.
Progress & Status
Rising Main 3 and 4 were completely rehabbed following leak detection and condition assessment. These improvements included Structural lining of all structurally deficient/critical areas, partial relocation of Rising Main 3 out of PennDOT right of way, construction of new "cross-over" interconnection between Rising Mains 3 and 4, installation of new valves, and replacement of piping inside the valve vault as both rising mains discharge into the Highland Reservoir No. 2.
