I've been at this organization since 2016, first in Public Affairs and for over four years as CEO. Some years ago, stakeholders, partners, and community members began to ask me why we hadn't yet changed our name? Why hadn't we tried to distance ourselves from the past, especially when we were making such strides overcoming it?
It was always clear to me that we couldn't just change our name and brand – we had to do the work first and begin to make things right for the people we serve. We had to first begin to rebuild trust.
From replacing lead service line to improving water quality, enhancing customer service, and making critical infrastructure investments, I feel more confident than ever that this is the right time to reintroduce ourselves to the public as Pittsburgh Water.
As Pittsburgh Water, we embrace the “One Water” approach, a concept that unites our water, sewer, and stormwater services. The One Water approach manages all water – whether from the tap, sewer, or in a stormwater collection system – in a collaborative, integrated, and inclusive manner; that’s how we view what our entire team does on a daily basis.
As a publicly owned and operated water utility, Pittsburgh Water works for you. Every dollar we receive is reinvested directly back into the water systems that serve those living and working in Pittsburgh.
